www.ysf.com.mx Youth Sports Foundation Rocky Point Baseball Program YSF ROCKY POINT BASEBALL PROGRAM IS A HOME RUN FOR THE COMMUNITY Baseball is a Major League hit with kids, parents, and the community in Rocky Point! YSF Rocky Point, a non-profit organization created by Founder and President Rick Busa, is designed to help improve the quality of life in communities throughout Sonora, Mexico through youth sports activities. He says YSF Rocky Point is actively involved in getting kids involved in playing sports and participating in athletic activities. It is all part of promoting healthier lifestyles. Busa says kids are learning valuable social skills, creating new friendships, as well as understanding the importance of discipline and teamwork. YSF Rocky Point has been working closely with several governmental agencies in an effort to expand and improve support programs and activities in local communities. Although YSF Rocky Point has been successful, raising funds to pay for equipment such as bats, balls, and helmets hasn’t been easy. Busa says many of these cities and towns have no funding for youth sports programs, making it extremely difficult to provide kids with the ability to participate. Most of the equipment is old and worn, forcing Rocky Point to heavily rely on equipment and monetary donations from Little Leagues and other organizations in the United States.
